A couple of CFIDS similar symptoms arise at completely determined populations, which permits conclusions on the causes:

A. Tunguska Population

After to today unsettled Tunguska disaster from June 1908, when by an enormous explosion in the taiga several thousand square kilometers forest were destroyed and thousands of humans and animals lost their life, the residents of this reason frequently have CFIDS similar symptoms (until today). Additionally to the symptoms mentioned are findings, which can be objectivated even in the laboratory, e.g. blood anomalies. There were also damages of the chromosomes in humans and animals. (to this topic we will say more in our next book).

On 30. June 1908 an enormous explosion occurred in the remote Tunguska region in Siberia (province Krasnojarsk), whose cause until today is unknown. Thousands of square kilometers of forest were destroyed, and many people lost their life. Still today the landscape of the disaster is to be seen. Since that time in the Tunguska humans and animals show damages of the hereditary material as well as changes in the blood and other typical CFIDS symptoms. (photo: University of Novosibirsk)

B. "Tapanui Flu"

Also in the environment of the Tapanui crater in the south of New Zealand CFIDS cases arise up frequently. A few years ago they were called here "Tapanui flu" or ME syndrome (myalgic encephalomyelitis). The Tapanui crater is a large impact crater, that developed already before the settlement of New Zealand by white men. Therefore only tales of the native Maoris are available concerning history of this crater. (1). They report on an explosion of cosmic extents, which could have been similar to the Tunguska disaster. By exact analysis of the Maori myths time could be estimated as 12th century. At this time it came to a world-wide climatic change (on Greenland glaciers arose, it came to a small interglacial period, providing unusually cold winters in Europe up to 19. Century). In New Zealand at that time a kind of bunch bird, the Moa, became extincted. The Tapanui crater shows up to today magnetic anomalies and is avoided by animals. Both - Tunguska such as Tapanui - refer to extreme electromagnetic anomalies as causes of the local CFIDS variants.

Also the origin of the Tapanui crater in the south of New Zealand is unknown up to now. Maori legends tell, that the space ship of the God Tamaatea fell down here. The point of time of origin of the crater was scientifically estimated as 12. Century. In this region CFIDS is so frequent that one called the illness for a long time also "Tapanui flu" . C. Gulf War Syndrome

After the Gulf War CFIDS similar symptoms arose in a superproportionally large group of American Gulf War veterans. The Department of Veteran Affairs arbitrarily selected at that time a group of 1161 men from a set of soldiers, who had visited army hospitals because of health problems, who were examined more exactly. From these 323 or 28% suffered at CFIDS symptoms. Above all also the skin rashes and multiple allergies (with 14% and/or 141 veterans) were far spread (2). According to report of the science magazine "Lancet" more than 50000 Gulf War veterans suffer from it - 70 % of them are durably unfit for service.

This led to the legend of the "Gulf War syndrome". It meant, Saddam Hussein would have used chemical or biological weapons against the allied armed forces, which had been supplied in addition from the USA or their NATO partners themselves to the Iraq in former times. Also American antitank defense shells, whose points were equipped with uranium, came into suspicion. The existence of such armor-piercing ammunition is not denied by NATO, and it was already used also in the Kosovo war (3).

The statements did not prove nevertheless as durable. The "Gulf War syndrome" as independent disease is obviously only a myth. The main argument is that CFIDS symptoms arose evenly not only with the Gulf War veterans, but with hundredthousands of other citizens, who with security didn't come into contact neither with radioactive radiation nor with biochemical weapons.

US president George Bush welcomes veterans of the Gulf War. Since an above average number of Gulf War veterans complained about CFIDS similar symptoms, the myth of the "Gulf War syndrome" developed. In the meantime it shows up that not Saddam Hussein's biochemical weapons but rather secret electromagnetic weapons of the allied forces might be responsible for the symptoms. (photo: Smithsonian Institute)

The US military officially tried to attribute the symptoms to an exotic infection, the so-called Leishmaniasis, which is caused by single-cell parasites and transferred in the desert by sand flies (4). Still today the American military tries to hold to this interpretation, although

Does the US military want to cover up something here? What really is the cause of the Gulf War syndrome?

Later they "diagnosed" the symptoms of Gulf War veterans also as usual depression and/or fear neurosis due to post traumatic stress, due to the combat mission during the war. Also this argumentation is not convincing, since a control investigation at NATO veterans from the Bosnian war did not bring comparable result.

It appears also hardly conceivablly that the soldiers would have consumed too much Diet Cola in the heat of the Iraqi desert, as was already in all seriousness maintained.

As only convincing explanation electromagnetic weapons could serve, which probably actually in the Gulf War, the first "virtual war" of world history, were used for the first time. That means weapons, which work with extremely long-wave radiation (ELF waves within the range below 10 cycles per second), with which one may observe for example deeply underground bunkers, which affect in addition, scientifically demonstrably, both the weather and the human brain, which are resonancable for these waves, since it produces likewise electromagnetic waves within this range, as can be measured in the EEG. (s. also for this our article "Transition to the age of Frequencies" and/or our book "Zaubergesang")

Reports of Gulf War veterans contain descriptions over the fact that secret army units were equipped with Schumann frequency generators and would have installed enormous loudspeakers in the desert, which would then have given no hearable tone in operation. The camera was removed from a US soldier, who wanted to photograph these installations, immediately.

This would be a convincing explanation for the fact that among the Gulf War veterans superproportionally many CFIDS cases arose, since they were evenly particularly strongly confronted with such radiations. Since a stress with electrical smog arises however world-wide, CFIDS cases are likewise explainable in the normal population. The following example makes clear that such military projects are dangerous not only for soldiers and that they are still covered up.

D. "Taos Hum"

Since 1991 people from Taos in new Mexico report about the fact that they were constantly troubled by a disturbing, low-frequency humming signal. Detailed investigations resulted in that about 2% of the inhabitants of the city are affected by this and report on it independently (5).

The reports point on the fact that cause could could be electromagnetic signals within the ELF range, approximately between 33 and 80 cycles per second (6). Within this range for example an American submarine communication system works. Similar systems were developed also in Great Britain and Russia. The Los Alamos National Laboratory, which has its seat completely near Taos, could identify a strong signal within the range between 12 and 18 cycles per second, without being able to locate (officially) however its origin.

No investigation had furnished however so far a proof for the fact that one could hear such electromagnetic ELF signals.

As said, so far no technical mechanisms could be made responsible for the Taos hum as causers. The submarine communication systems mentioned work since 1987, so that it would not be to understand, why the disturbances arose only starting from 1991. Even a Congressman was involved in the affair in 1993, as can be proved, and he named three possible military causers: a new radar mechanism of the Kirtland Air Force cousin, low and extremely quietly flying helicopters as well as a low flying laser laboratory. Everything points on the fact that the affair is to be covered up massively, so that the probability is high that it concerns still quite different causes.

Investigations at the University of new Mexico anyhow resulted in that the noise feelings in the case of the concerned people are no hallucinations and also cannot be attributed to organic causes (Tinnitus, disease Ménière).

The phenomenon occurs in the meantime also at many other places of the United States on as well as in Great Britain, Sweden and other European countries. The tones may not be recorded with conventional microphones and cassette recorders, but they could however allegedly be located and registered by special receivers (7). The cause is still unclear.

On a subjective evaluation scale (of 0-9, according to L. Grant (8)) the following gradated symptoms occur during continuous annoyance of the Taos Hum:

0 - no perception of the humming tone

1 - Humming tone hardly to hear, one is not sure whether and when one hears it.

2 - Humming tone definitely audibly, in the background, if otherwise silence prevails, usually at night in bed.

3 - The perception of the tone will be belonged to troubles, it can be heard at most times, even if one gets up and moves. It is not felt yet as extreme loading, and it still isn't cause of physical symptoms.

4 - The tone is constantly heard mostly or will be heard as strong signal, one is getting tired of hearing it. Trains of thought are interrupted. Still no physical symptoms.

5 - It is getting slowly dangerous. The tone is there, it is loud, all day long. Headaches arise, one cannot concentrate, has the only desire to switch off the tone.

6 - The tone is so strong that one can hardly think. One sits usually only around, hardly able to get up. Headaches arise, muscle spasms, twitching, joint and muscular pains.

7 - The room seems to vibrate, which blurs visual perception, it comes to heavy physical symptoms, exhaustion, with simultaneous feeling of the strain and excitation. Strong subjective feelings of vibration and "rumbling".

8 - Additionally to (7) the feeling of electrical shocks, which pass through the whole body. "Everything that still exists is the hum and the desire to survive it."

9 - this point is only to demonstrate that the scale is in principle open upward. Heavier cases than (8) are not known up to now.

In England cases are known that people could loose the annoyance by local changes (e.g. by staying overnight in a park (9)). This is a further indication for the fact that this is an objective phenomenon.

Sources of the electromagnetic stress

There are two sources for electromagnetic stress:

1. technical stress

These stresses are released by technical electromagnetic alternating fields within the ELF range, e.g. by the usual alternating current from the plug socket (50 cycles per second of frequency), or by the large ionosphere heaters (e.g. the HAARP facility in Alaska (10)), which is aimed to have caused the intensified emission of ELF waves in the ionosphere and thus already has contributed substantially to the climatic change (e.g. to the southwards translation of the northern Jetstream, which runs nowadays ever more frequently also over Central Europe instead of the polar region). In this context it also the so-called TLR Factor (temporary local risk factor) should be mentioned, which quite obviously is not only a danger for the air traffic, but also may affect human consciousness.

In addition there are surface covering plants for telecommunications such as radar -, radio and radio telephone networks, which use all carrier frequencies within the microwave range, usually harmonic waves (multiples) of 150 megahertz, the resonant frequency of the human DNA. These microwaves are pulsed with ELF waves within the range of 8 cycles per second, so that it may affect the brain, in addition to the human hereditary substance. These athermic effects (damages by information transfer) are by far more dangerous than the so much discussed thermal effects (over warming of brain tissue by handy use). These athermic effects are meanwhile scientifically provable and concern all humans, not only the handy owners, because the radio masts exist in the country surface covering.

Disease symptoms by microwave smog are however well-known from the seventies: Sleep disturbances, vibration feelings, hallucinations, eye burning, headache, nausea, stomach intestine disturbances, attraction barness, fear, depression, memory disturbances. They arose both with the coworkers of the American embassy in Moscow, when this was exposed to microwaves by the Soviet secret service, and up to 1976 with the population in parts of Canada, while the electromagnetic "Woodpecker" signal was to receive, likewise originating from the Soviet Union, an electromagnetic frequency of approx. 8 cycles per second. Investigations from the USA and Finland (12) proved that a high continuous stress with certain electromagnetic frequencies is able to cause not only leukaemia, but also Alzheimer. The risk to get sick with Alzheimer was increased with the persons, who were exposed to such a continuous stress at their residence, up to three times higher than at control's groups without comparable stress, in Finland even up to seven times. Similarly as already described with the food poisons Aspartam and Glutamate, these fields increase the calcium concentration in the cells.

2. Natural stress

Additionally to the stress by technical fields also the normal environment momentarily affects many people, since also the natural electromagnetic fields of the earth at present change drastically: the earth's magnetic field and the earth resonant frequencies (the so-called Schumann frequencies (13)). Particularly this applies to the Schumann frequencies, which are again in the ELF range (the base frequency is with scarcely 8 cycles per second).

Laboratory experiments proved that the change of these parameters leads again to CFIDS similar symptoms. In nature however momentarily such a change runs off: the earth's magnetic field decreases continuously, the Schumann frequencies increase.

In the meantime it is known that not only the brain, but also many other organs of the body as well as the body as a whole produce electromagnetic fields and waves, which run synchronously to those of the earth as result of a long adjustment process of humans to their terrestrial environment. If now these outside circumstances change, the body must react to it.

Thus CFIDS would not be a disease in the actual sense, but a physical reaction to a change of the environmental conditions, a symptom of an adjustment process. Likewise we do not know, why only a small part of the population feels this, and it is unknown to us, how long this adjustment process will last.
